Mystery Shopper: Someone hired by a company to pose as a customer in order to evaluate the quality of its service These are paid shoppers that are hired by a certain company to do specific tasks to evaluate the quality of retail service without its employees knowing. They are trained to shop for products, ask questions to the employees and file complaints or if the staff is behaving in a certain way that may be inappropriate to the customers. They then provide feedback and evaluation on customer service, the store set-up, the cleanliness, how long it takes for someone to greet the mystery shopper and many other things. You can register online to be a mystery shopper and receive payment for this work. Company's do this to test the knowledge and service skills of their employees.
